Central Christian is overseen by a group of spiritually mature men that the New Testament calls elders. They are responsible for the ultimate oversight and direction of the church. They are to lead by example, to pray, to ensure the spiritual health of the church, and to create an environment in which our vision can be fulfilled. The Elder Board is the governing body of the church, made up of laymen. The qualifications for elders are found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. The congregation nominates and confirms all new elders. Each Elder servers a 2-year term.
Elders Bio
Bob Roberson
Bob graduated from Abilene Christian College and then the University of Arizona College of Law. In between these two schools, he spent 4 years in the United States Air Force that included a tour of Viet Nam. After many years as an attorney in Arizona, he went to seminary in Johnson City and became a minister. He has served at Central since 2005 except for a 1-year absence. He is married to Debbie and has two daughters, Veronica and Valerie, a son-in-law Stephen and two grandchildren, Hailey, and Brooklyn. Bob started his third two-year term in October 2024
John Livingston
John has been attending Central since 2015. He has several years in retail experience including retail management. Also, he worked as a Maintenance Engineer for an area hotel. He has been married to his wife Heather since 2019. John was confirmed as Elder in 2020. He and Heather enjoy hosting parties and gatherings at their house. They also enjoy serving the Church. They have 3 fur babies named Blizzy, Deedle, and Ziggy. John started his third two-year term in October of 2024
Bob Gibson
After growing up in Michigan, I spent four years in the USAF. Upon discharge I moved to Southern California where I met and married my wife, Susan. We have two children, three granddaughters and a grandson. We’ve been married 46 years. God led us to Northeast Tennessee 16 years ago and we’ve loved being at Central for the past fifteen years. We love our church family. Bob started his eighth two-year term as an Elder in October 2024
Rob Love
Rob has been married to his wife, Lisa, for 30 years. We have three daughters, Abbie, Hannah & Ellen. We’ve been attending Central since 2014, members since 2015. Rob has worked for Siemens for 18+ years. He was first elected elder in 2017. Rob started his 5th two-year term in October of 2025.
